Beach babies

Even though I grew up in CA, I'm not a huge beach person. I like it and always have fun when I go, but I wasn't the girl who wanted to be on the sand every weekend. After living in CO (no beaches, obviously) and now WA (very different beaches), I wish I would've taken advantage of the CA coast a bit more. Here are some pics from Parker's first trip to the beach at exactly 6-months-old! CA peeps...you probably can't believe he is going for the first time at 1/2 a year, but it's true! We're in the NW, folks!

This boy was saying, "Let's go to the beach, Mommy!" every time the sun made an appearance!

Camden and Daddy Day

Thomas the Train came to our area so we had to see him! Sara (sis-in-law) took our nephew, Dylan, a month or two ago so I got in touch with her to make sure it was worth it. She said Dylan loved it, but it was pretty loud (a lot of crying babies on their train). With that info we decided to make it a Camden and Daddy day! They had a great time! Camden was super excited to tell me all about it when he got home...very cute!

Zoo time

After the rice cereal adventure, we headed to the zoo. Here are a few photos from our time there.

Rice cereal!

On July 9th, at 5 1/2-months-old, we introduced Parker to the world of solids! He was starting to get really interested in food...watching us eat, trying to grab our plates/forks, looking at our food, etc. So, we thought it was time! He's a big boy so we assumed he would like eating rice cereal (or anything for that matter). Were we right?

Can't believe my baby boy is ready for food!

Yum, yum!

"You want me to eat that?"

1st bite

"I'm not sure about this stuff."

"Okay, I decided...it's nasty!"

"Hey, Camden, can you help me out here?"

"Oh no! Now he's trying to put that stuff in my mouth! Camden, you were supposed to help me, buddy!"

Obviously, we were wrong. He is not a fan...at all.

Celebrating the Good Ol' USA

I've said it before, our neighborhood is great! We had a little block party across the street to celebrate the 4th...BBQ, fabulous people, and fireworks (they are legal where we live). Good times! Sidenote: the boys were champs and slept through the LOUD fireworks right in front of our house!

First 4th of July--sporting his bro's patriotic shorts

His shirt is soaked! This kid drools and spits up like crazy!

Love!

A Summer Day

We had a great time busting out the shark pool for the boys to "swim" (more like sit) in. Parker took his first dip. He was into it at the beginning, but wasn't so sure after a little while--I think it may have something to do with the fact that Daddy was trying to turn the water off and, instead, turned it up and it sprayed the little one right in the face! After swimming it was nap time then we were off to the Henderson/Hartford BBQ. The two couples had a lot to celebrate! It was Ryan's birthday, the end of Em's residency, and the amazing success of the Skillet Diner (Kelli and Josh's restaurant they recently opened in Seattle). What a perfect summer day...swimming and BBQ-ing. So fun!

Check out those thighs!

Ready to go!

June 23--5 months!

I'm going to have to talk about this month in the past tense because, once again, I am behind. Parker weighed in at 18 pounds 3.5 ounces...still our big boy! He became even more of a talker this month with squeals, screeches, grunts and coos all the time! I love it! Parker got really into his feet. He would lift his leg and just stare at his toes. Eventually he grabbed those little things and started sucking on them (see last pic). He moved from a 3 hour schedule to a 4 and did awesome! Parker celebrated his first Father's Day with Daddy and spent some time with Gramps and Grammy when they visited at the beginning of June. He rolled from belly to back and we found out he is really ticklish on his neck (big belly laughs)! Parker is such a sweet, happy boy! We love him more than words can express!

Look how big he's getting in the chair!

So happy about his sign...Mommy actually typed it this time!

"Seriously, check this out. This is fancy, folks!"

All smiles grabbing his foot

"I love this book...can't you tell?!"

Sweet

Big boy!

So cute in the tub

Hi buddy!
