Family Hike and Firetrucks

We didn't have any big plans for Memorial Day weekend.  I was just thankful to be a family of four (the hubs has been a traveling machine lately) for three days!  We ended up going on a hike on Saturday morning *perfect weather* and BBQ-ing with neighbors that night and Sunday.  I only took out my camera once during the weekend and that was for the hike.  So, here you go!

 Ready to explore!

In the BOB and ready to roll!

It was a "family friendly" hike.  There were signs posted along the way about a field mouse exploring the forest and meeting animals who live there.  Cute!

 A treasure!

 Checking out a slug

 Balancing with Daddy

 Blowing dandelions with Mommy

A flower for Parker to check out

 Happy to have two!

Three attempts at a family photo...

We headed to lunch and ran into the firemen!
There were firetrucks and ambulances for the kids to see and climb in...Camden was so excited!

Singing for Jesus

I go to Community Bible Study on Wednesday mornings and love it!  It's just for the ladies...young and old!  It's fun to be in a mixture of new moms, Great-Grandmas and everything in between!  One of the greatest things about it is the kids program.  It is so comforting to know my boys are being loved on and learning about Jesus while I meet with my group.  The bigger kids go to music every week. Camden loves it, to say the least.  He is constantly singing the songs he learns at CBS.  On May 23rd, they sang for Jesus on the stage!

 Getting ready to start

"...they are weak, but He is strong!"

 Fist pump

 Time to shake the eggs

This song had a video with it, so he's looking at the screen

Our Little Superhero

Our neighbors gave us this Superman costume a long time ago.  Camden had not touched it until a few days ago and now he's obsessed!  He wants to wear it every day and everywhere!

Finger Painting

The other day I made edible finger paint so the boys could do a little art project together.  Camden lasted about two minutes...he didn't like the texture of the paint.  Parker, on the other hand, was into playing with the paint more than putting it on the paper!  Yet another difference in these two boys of mine!

This, my friends, is why I made it edible!  It's the first thing he did!

 Checking out his blue hands

He loved scooping it out of the cups

 Yum!

Look at those globs on his fingers!  This boy doesn't mess around!

 Hooray for finger painting!

Apparently we need to do something a little different next time.  The colors weren't nearly as bold as I was hoping, but it was fun (for Parker, anyway)!

Hair Gel

Pinterest.  I love it.  I "pin" like crazy, but often don't go back to actually do it!  I'm trying to change that.  Here is another sensory activity from one of my pins.  You just squeeze hair gel into a bag and let the kids squish it around.  There are some little eyes in there for them to poke and play with too (I think the "pinner" may have done this around Halloween...orange gel and eyes, cute!).  It was fun!

The first thing he did, of course, was put it in his mouth

 What up, Mama?

Camden just hangs out while Parker, once again, tries to eat the stuff

Cheerio Towers

A little activity for Camden while I got breakfast ready.

Quick set-up, no need to buy supplies, and easy clean-up (and it works on fine motor skills, an added bonus)...my kind of fun!

Stick spaghetti noodles in Play-Doh, then put Cheerios on the noodle to make a tower

 Concentrating

Watching the Cheerio slide down the noodle

 Cheese!

I broke some noodles to make different heights

Then Camden took matters into his own hands and stuck all kinds of noodles into the Play-Doh!

Cool!

Yogurt

Parker has yogurt every day after his nap.  He loves it (and he doesn't drink milk so we have to get some calcium in him).  Lately, he wants to feed himself!
