Spoiled by the Floreys

Travis and Melissa (the first friends we made here in CO) had us over for dinner a few days before Christmas. They were kind enough to make us a delicious meal AND buy Camden an outfit...jeans, a shirt, and a stylin' coat. Thank you so much you two!

Party of 3

Christmas is going to be different this year. It will just be the three of us. It's somewhat bittersweet. I love that it's going to be relaxed and quiet. A special time for our little family. Nowhere to be and no one to see, easy. However, I miss being with the rest of our fam. I personally miss my parents. Coming from a family of three, it was easy for all of us to be together on Christmas Day. There weren't multiple schedules to work around, it was the 25th, end of story! It's not only Christmas, but my mom's birthday...making it a bit tougher for me to be away from them. Back to the sweet part--we can savor the day, savor each other without time constraints or rushing out the door. Jonathan and I aren't exchanging gifts this year. This encourages us to appreciate the times we do get something new and to think of those who don't have the opportunity to open a package on Christmas morning. We may never have a Christmas like this again. Savor its simplicity.

Merry Christmas!
Love, The Bentley Fam

These are a few of my favorite things...

...about the Christmas season (in no particular order):
  • celebrating Jesus
  • wrapping (and unwrapping) presents
  • hot chocolate with marshmallows, of course
  • the hustle and bustle at the mall
  • bundled up babies
  • Christmas trees, decorations (I'm partial to snowmen), and lights
  • checking the mail to find fabulous cards/photos/letters
  • scarves
  • fireplaces
  • untouched snow
  • spending time with those we love
  • delicious goodies...I especially love all the minty sweet stuff this time of year
  • candles
  • family traditions...old and new
  • watching Camden discover new things about Christmas...the lights, wrapping paper, boxes, etc. He was so tiny last year!
  • snuggling with my hubby

San Fran

My fabulous friend, Alisa, turned the big 3-0 at the beginning of this month. Not only was this a milestone birthday, but she had also been proposed to recently. Newly engaged, turning 30...what more do you need to celebrate?! Her incredible fiance, Philip, arranged a massive surprise for her in San Fran (where they live). So, 20+ people rolled in from all over the country to celebrate this girl! I found a crazy cheap flight and headed out to NorCal solo--my first time leaving Camden overnight. It was so fun to see college friends (I miss them like crazy...those of you that weren't there, wish you were). I love you, girls! Happy 30th, Lis!

Love the colors of Fall

Whitney, me, Alisa, Georgia, and baby Emajean (who was fabulous the whole trip)

Mackenzie, me, and the little one (I'm getting my baby fix with Emajean)

Kyle and Karly with baby boy due in April

Kim, Dave, and Wyatt (his 1st big trip...he did awesome...so did his parents)

Bath time! Woohoo!

14 months!

14 months! I think every month shocks me! Our little baby is turning into a little boy. Camden is becoming more and more independent--wanting to be held less and do things on his own more. He is bursting at the seams with personality and I love it (you will see a bit of it in the photos)! We continue to fall more in love with him as he adds laughter and joy to our lives every day.
He...
-likes to be surprised. He thinks it's really funny if you sneak up on him.
-wants his own spoon to feed himself yogurt.
-loves music. He starts groovin' as soon as he hears it.
-signs "please" all the time. His newest sign is "telephone."
-blows and waves his hand in front of his mouth to "say" something is hot.
-wants to get out of his car-seat as soon as the car turns off.
-loves climbing the stairs.
-needs to see what is in the pot if it is on the stove.
-loves our Christmas decorations! I am all about snowmen, so there are many of them out. Camden will point to a certain snowman, I (or JB) will hold it up to him, he touches its nose then wants me to put it back. It's hilarious!
-always wants to eat bread.
-cracks up when I run around his high-chair.
-is a big fan of the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes"
-rocks our world!
Grabbing the sign after Mommy picked it up for the 48th time!

Gramps and Grammy got him this train last Christmas and he LOVES it this year!

A Nashville Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for...an incredible family is just one of them! Thanksgiving was in Nashville this year with Jonathan's brother and sis-in-law. It's a great city and we had so much fun with them! Those of you we didn't see, we definitely missed you!

Camden's "Nashville hair." More humidity = more curls.

He loved the "cuties." He carried this thing everywhere!

The famous Loveless Cafe...good ol' southern cooking!

Camden (and Mommy) loved the biscuits!

Getting ready to head in to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Camden loved the record wall--the ones framed in blue played music and he thought that was awesome!

Happy Thanksgiving! Cam is checking out the bird.

He found his snacks and he's pretty happy about it. :)

Yeeeehaaaaw! This is at the Opryland Hotel

Brotherly love

So may things to look at...the camera is not one of them.
