Daddy's Day

Today we are celebrating. We aren't doing anything elaborate, just our usual Sunday stuff--we went to church, grabbed lunch, and now we're home hanging out while the boys nap, but we are still celebrating in our hearts. I personally am celebrating Jonathan and the incredible Daddy he is to our boys. Together we're celebrating the many dads we've been blessed with...my Dad, Jonathan's Dad, Jonathan's step-dad, Jonathan's brother, and our Grandpas. We also have some amazing friends out there who are amazing dads too! I wrote the poem below for Jonathan and gave it to him in a frame with Camden's handprint and Parker's footprint (he also got a BBQ)! Happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Father’s Day to you!

Your first one as a Daddy of two

We think you are quite the guy

Here are a few reasons why…

You come in the door from a long day

Jump right in and start to play

You’re never too tired for your boys

To run, to snuggle, to get out the toys

You make us smile and giggle

Tickle and tackle us while we wiggle

You read books day and night

Sing songs after turning off the light

You encourage us and make us feel proud

We are learning not to follow the crowd

Instead we want to be just like you

Loving God and others too

You are teaching us new things every day

By how you act and what you say

We are so thankful for all you do

And want you to know how much we love you

Thank you for being the best Daddy around

We’ll still think that when we’re college-bound

We are growing so fast and getting so tall

But we’ll always look up to you, even when we aren’t small

Love, boundaries, guidance, and trust

All the intangibles that are a must

In addition, you give us everything we need

Happy Daddy’s Day from Camden James and Parker Reid
