1st day of Preschool

Camden started preschool on September 5th.  This will be his first full year!  He'll be going three days per week.  That's a lot of mornings without him!

I was planning on asking Camden what he wanted to be when he grew up the night before, but he randomly told me.  He said, "Mommy, I want to be a teacher like you were.  I want to be the music teacher!"  That was the first I heard of that, but it went on the chalkboard!  This boy sure loves music.

We definitely miss him while he's at school, but we know he's having fun!  Parker says, "Brudder" throughout the day while looking for his best buddy.  So sweet!

Jonathan had to get to work so he wasn't able to take Camden to school.  He loves his Daddy!

One of my friends on Facebook commented on this picture saying, "Love the California boy outfit."  Just staying true to our roots!

Sometimes I feel like he's so big and other times he seems so little (like when he plays with the neighborhood kids).  On this day, he was so big!

Yes, folks, we are still struggling to get a genuine smile out of him!

I was so excited for him to start school!  I knew he would have a great day!  I knew he would love it!  He did!  What I didn't know was that I would tear up at the door to his classroom.  My baby is growing up!

He didn't get a new "first day outfit," but he did get new shoes.  He's my son.

 Love.

First day flowers for his teachers

As I was driving him to school I realized I forgot to take pics of just the flowers, so I snapped one in the car.  I got this idea from Pinterest.

At the door of his classroom with Teacher Kathy (she was not at Meet the Teacher so this was their first interaction)

His backpack is hung on the doggy tail hook and he's ready to rock (fake smile and all)

 Standing in chapel

Blowing kisses back to Parker as he leaves chapel to go to class

June 23--17 months & July 23--18 months

Mr. Parker Reid is not short on two things for sure...personality and words!  Sometimes it's babble, most of the time it's words, but he's always making some kind of noise.  He's loud.  He will squeal like no other (mostly when he's in a high chair--out or at home) and it's not because he's unhappy, he just wants to make noise.  Parker makes some hilarious faces and he knows it's funny which cracks me up even more.  He is obsessed with his brother.  You'll often hear him saying, "Brudder, watch...brudder, play...brudder, nigh-nigh."  When he's looking for something he calls it..."Shooooes, baaaallll, boooook."  He says words I did't know he knew.  The other day Camden was riding his bike and he came over to say hi to Parker.  Parker patted Camden's head and said, "Helmet."  He likes to play in Camden's bed and when he hangs his feet off the edge he smiles and says, "Dangus (dangerous)!"  Parker loves being outside!  He says hi to everyone.  Lately, when we give him something he responds with, "You're welcome" rather than "Thank you"--we're working on that one!  Parker is a little love.  While we were at camp the childcare workers told me he was going around saying, "Hug!" to all the kids who were crying.  He loves balls, specifically beach balls right now because he can do "big kicks" and "bop" them.  He calls lotion "aaahhhh" because that's what I say when I put it on him.  Parker is a music fan just like his big bro.  He tries to sing along to songs, loves playing the drum and guitar, and has some serious dance moves.  He does not like to sit still most of the time, but will for snuggles.  We love this sweet boy!

17 months (actually a little closer to 18...took the pics late)

He would rather be doing this than sitting to take pics

 Love that smile!

Seriously, Mommy, you're still taking pictures?!

He took it upon himself to get out of the chair and go down the stairs, so I followed him and attempted to snap a few more

 A little half smile

Check out all of those teeth!  15 are in and #16 is about to pop through!

 July 23--18 months!

 Silly boy!

Here, Mommy, do you need this?

He decided to lay in the chair rather than stand this time

 Happy fella!

Snack time!  This boy is an eater!

Neighbor Update

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our neighbor. Some friends organized an early birthday party for her son (who turns four at the end of next month) this past Saturday.  She was determined to go and she went.  It appears that was what she was holding on for as she passed away early this morning.  Please continue praying for her husband and little guy.

Swimming Lessons

Camden is not a water baby.  At all.  He doesn't mind getting in the pool, but he does not want the water anywhere near his face (this is true in the bath too). Rumor has it, his Daddy was the same way! :)  Turns out he had private lessons in his own backyard to get him to put his face in the water.  Like father, like son.  Now, however, Jonathan loves the water.  He ended up surfing throughout high school and is a huge fan of snorkeling.  Maybe, just maybe, Camden will like it someday!

His head is supposed to be on her shoulder while he kicks

 Waiting for his turn

 Kick, kick, kick

Back float with Miss Courtney!  Gotta love the NW...no tans here!

Swinging at the park that is right next to the pool.

We're 4 for 4

It's official, the whole family loves cereal!  Parker just joined the rest of us by becoming a fan of our favorite breakfast food.  Our pantry is always stocked with at least seven boxes!  It's no joke, we love this stuff!  Here's Parker finishing off my bowl of cereal on a couple different mornings.

The Hubs and Our Big Boy

An impromptu photo session with Jonathan and Camden led to a few smiles and lots of funny faces!
