Dreadful Day

I have been dreading tomorrow for quite some time now.  I have to go back to work.  My eight weeks of maternity leave have come to end...much too quickly.  First of all, I cannot believe Camden is 8 weeks old and second of all I cannot believe I have to leave him.  It breaks my heart.  I (we) am definitely blessed in that he will be home with Jonathan rather than a stranger and I am only teaching half days.  However, that is half a day too long right now.  I am not ungrateful for our situation because, like I said, it is a blessing, but I am going to miss him like crazy!  I know he is in good hands...Jonathan's...but I just wish I was going to be home to hear all of his little noises and see his funny expressions.  I will miss you little guy and I love you so much!

Turkey Day

Jonathan is getting ready to put the bird in the oven.  He did a great job...it was delicious!

Dad is working on his famous banana pudding.  He and I used to make this a lot together.  Good stuff, as always!

Point Loma Love

Robin was in Colorado visiting her brother and his family for Thanksgiving and she was nice enough to stop by our house.  I ran track with her at Point Loma and haven't seen her in years!  It was fun to catch up and hear about all of her adventures---she has 4 jobs right now!  Thanks for visiting, Robin!  

The Jackster

Jack, who is now 2 1/2, came over to meet Camden.  He is so cute and loved our little guy.  I cannot believe how big he is!  As most of you know, I was his nanny from 3 months old-9 months old so I have seen him grow and change a lot.  Mer (Jack's mom) had a hard time putting Camden down.  She was so cute and just loved snuggling with him...I don't blame her!

Thankful

My wonderful friend, Laci, encouraged her blog readers to post what they are thankful for on their blogs, so here it goes (thanks Lace). 

I am thankful for...

• Jesus.  His unconditional love, His grace, His forgiveness. What a joy to have a personal relationship with Him.
• Jonathan.  He is the best husband and dad!  I could not have prayed for a better life partner.
• Camden.  My sweet baby boy.  I don't know what I did without him.  He has added so much love and joy to my life.
• My parents.  They have been an incredible example of love as a mom and dad and husband and wife.  
• In-laws.  They are fabulous!  They have been so welcoming since day one.  I am grateful for their consistent love and support (this includes Jonathan's siblings too...and Sara, of course!) 
  
• Camden's grandparents.  This is a bit repetitive since I already said my parents and in-laws, but I am so thankful Camden has such loving grandparents that will play a huge role in his life.
• Family.  They are far (in CA and IA), but I cherish the times we've been together.
• Friends.  Those who have walked beside me for twenty-something years and those I have just met.  They have made me a better person.  
• Health.  I have been extremely blessed with a healthy body. I hope it continues for many years!
• Pregnancy.  I LOVED being pregnant and the outcome of pregnancy is even better!  I am thankful I had a healthy pregnancy, a safe delivery, and a healthy baby.
• Home.  We moved into our house in the nick of time!  It's great to own something.  We can paint!
• Education.  It was a privilege to go to college, especially on the beach! :)
• Massages.  Need I say more?  I love them!
• Technology.  I'm not savvy, but I love that I can keep in touch with those near and far through things like email and blogs.
• Colorado.  It has been an adventure.  We left our comfort zone in CA and started over here in CO--it has been great!
• Job.  Although I'm not ready to go back to it, I'm thankful to have one!  
• Laughter, the smell of rain, chocolate chip cookies, Starbucks, hugs, fall weather and leaves, the beach, snuggles, the smell of my baby boy, bonfires, vacations, my wedding day, shopping, In-n-Out, memories, and much more!

This is one of my favorite pics so far.  He's wide awake and comfy in dad's arms.  We see his eyes more often these days!  He sure is taking in the world around him...so fun to watch him grow and develop.  

Aunt Krista

Jonathan's step-sis, Krista, came to visit the three of us the day after Jeremy and Sara left. We were so thankful she was willing to make the trip out and it was great having her here. She was nice enough to help us with meals and was more than willing to hold Camden at any time. :)  She also hooked the little man up with shoes, boots, a blanket, and lots of cute clothes.  Thanks for everything, Krista!  Come back soon!
