Stats

Today Camden had his first doc appointment since we moved to WA (we were thankful for 4.5 months of staying away from the pediatrician after his stint of ear infections). He did great! The nurse and doc complimented our little guy's verbal skills and what a wonderful patient he was--doc said, "You'll just let me do anything to you!" as Cam sat there extremely still while she listened to his heart, checked inside his mouth, and looked in his ears. He was given one shot (first time getting one in the arm) and he didn't even flinch. We were told that he can stop drinking whole milk and go to "whatever kind works best for our family." The doc also recommended setting up his first dentist appointment. Overall, he is healthy and happy!

Height: 35 1/4 inches (just above the 75th percentile)
Weight: 30.6 pounds (around the 75th percentile. This is a big jump--he's been in the 25th percentile for most of his life)

Recent Faves

Some of my favorite things Camden has done/said in the last week or so...
  • When someone sneezes, he says, "Bless Dada/Mama/Cambo."
  • He waves to his shadow and says, "Hiiii," or "Hey there!"
  • Grabs his guitar (bday gift from Grammy and Gramps) and says, "How about..." that means Mommy or Daddy should be ready to sing a song and come up with a topic for the little ditty. We have been singing about birds, dogs, trees, yogurt, and tacos (to name a few)
  • Looking for his shoes..."Shooooes, where are you?"
  • Randomly puts his finger up to his mouth saying, "Shhhh, quiet" while tiptoeing around.
  • Says, "Dada play ball" shortly after Jonathan walks in the door.
  • Calls out the colors of the road signs we pass.
  • His stuffed giraffe now has a red mustache because Camden was sharing his strawberries.
  • He's gotten a few compliments on his Pumas lately and when he does he points to them and says, "Mama." I'm glad he knows who buys him the good stuff! :)

Love this kid!

(A lot of) Maui Pics

We were so fortunate to be able to go to Maui for a week (June 25-July 2) with Jonathan's mom, step-dad, bro, sis-in-law, nephew, step-sis, and niece. It was a fabulous trip! Camden loved his first experience on the islands!

The only empty seat on the way there was in our row...so lucky! Camden was a champ on the flight.

Yay! So excited (and sweaty)! We made it!

Checking out the Pacific with Daddy.

Teeter Totter

Our boy LOVES the park! If the weather is nice, we go! Camden and I were at the park just about every day this summer. When we get in the car to go anywhere he will say, "Swing, swing"-his way of communicating he wants to hit up the park. The swings are still a fave, but slowly but surely he has explored other fun things. Here's one of them...the teeter totter.

...two...

Camden James,
Happy 2nd birthday! I cannot believe another year has gone by! You are such an incredible little guy and I am so thankful God has entrusted you to Daddy and me. You have gone from a baby to a little boy in the last year, from crawling to walking and running, from babbling to short sentences. I love watching you grow, change, and learn. You have caused me to see the world differently through your eyes--the things that I would normally overlook are now fascinating and new. You are hilarious, smart, helpful, independent, curious, stubborn, determined, loving, sweet, and so much more! You love music (listening, playing, and singing), the park, bubbles, books, tractors, cranes, trucks, rocks, tigers, babies, drawing, Sesame Street (the characters, not the show...you've never seen the show), puzzles, balls, stickers, Play-Doh, climbing, balloons, wrestling with Daddy, running around with only your hooded towel on after the bath, and story time at the library...just to name a few. You know a lot of colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, white, black and sometimes grey). You make Daddy and me laugh daily and warm our hearts with your hugs, kisses, and "nuv you." You call yourself "Cambo" and say "two" when someone asks, "How old are you?" while holding up one finger on each hand. You count, "Two, five, two" and every once in a while "free" ends up in there. You are obsessed with guitars and had a guitar theme birthday party this year. You especially like the color orange lately. I have an athlete on my hands--you can kick a soccer ball into your little goal, hit a golf ball with your set of clubs, shoot hoops, throw a football, and hit your inflated baseball when someone pitches it to you. You cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze, randomly bust out in song and dance, and do a funny fake laugh. You have added so much to my life. You are an incredible gift from God. Camden, I love you with all my heart. Happy birthday, sweet boy.
Hugs and kisses,
Mommy

Cantaloupe Kid

This boy loves his fruit! Here are a few pics (from June) of him munching on some cantaloupe.
