Daddy's Day

Today we are celebrating. We aren't doing anything elaborate, just our usual Sunday stuff--we went to church, grabbed lunch, and now we're home hanging out while the boys nap, but we are still celebrating in our hearts. I personally am celebrating Jonathan and the incredible Daddy he is to our boys. Together we're celebrating the many dads we've been blessed with...my Dad, Jonathan's Dad, Jonathan's step-dad, Jonathan's brother, and our Grandpas. We also have some amazing friends out there who are amazing dads too! I wrote the poem below for Jonathan and gave it to him in a frame with Camden's handprint and Parker's footprint (he also got a BBQ)! Happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Father’s Day to you!

Your first one as a Daddy of two

We think you are quite the guy

Here are a few reasons why…

You come in the door from a long day

Jump right in and start to play

You’re never too tired for your boys

To run, to snuggle, to get out the toys

You make us smile and giggle

Tickle and tackle us while we wiggle

You read books day and night

Sing songs after turning off the light

You encourage us and make us feel proud

We are learning not to follow the crowd

Instead we want to be just like you

Loving God and others too

You are teaching us new things every day

By how you act and what you say

We are so thankful for all you do

And want you to know how much we love you

Thank you for being the best Daddy around

We’ll still think that when we’re college-bound

We are growing so fast and getting so tall

But we’ll always look up to you, even when we aren’t small

Love, boundaries, guidance, and trust

All the intangibles that are a must

In addition, you give us everything we need

Happy Daddy’s Day from Camden James and Parker Reid

Feet

I love when babies discover their little body parts. They stare at their hand wondering how it's moving and concentrate really hard to maneuver it into their mouths. Everything is new and everything is fascinating. It reminds me to be amazed at all of the miracles surrounding us daily. We would have a different attitude if we truly did see the world through a child's eyes. Here is Parker learning he has feet and figuring out how to move them.

Shapes

We haven't worked on drawing shapes so I was pretty impressed with what Camden did on his own. I think he's pretty impressed too!

Look at that proud face

Triangle!

"This is a circle right here!"

Way to go, buddy!

Bumbo

On April 28th, just after hitting the 3-month mark, Parker went in the Bumbo seat. He's a strong fella and did great holding up his head...not an easy task when it's a big ol' noggin like his!

What is this thing?

A new view!

That head is getting heavy!

Hi Mommy!

Taking a break with Daddy

Round 2 on April 30th

Cheeks!

Cuteness!

Later gator

I promise this kid wears clothes...sometimes! :) For some reason I seem to snap photos when he's sporting his PJ's.

Feeding Time!

"My (I'm) ready to feed Parker!" This is what I heard as I was changing Parker's diaper. I turned around and saw Camden sitting in the chair with his shirt off and the Boppy around him. He was ready!

Neither of them are too sure about this!

So proud of himself (Parker still isn't sure)!

Yes, he's looking at his nipple and yes, I had to switch Parker to the other side!

Kissses to finish off the feeding!

I was more behind than I thought (ugh!)...these pics are from April 26th.

Cali Trip--Part 2

After our Bakersfield visit, we headed over to Papa and GG's house in Atascadero. During our stay, Parker met more family members for the first time...his Auntie Kristen, Uncle Ryan, and his great-grandparents! Auntie Sara and cousin Dylan stayed in A-town after the wedding as well, allowing us to spend extra time with them. Mom and Eric, thank you for everything!

GG teaching these boys how to play...yes please!

Camden loved the piano (let's hope he's musically inclined like Daddy)

Helping Papa trim the bushes

Time to mow the lawn!

I love Dylan's face in this one!

Uncle Jason met us for burgers. It was Parker's first time meeting him as well...bummed I didn't get a pic of the two of them.

Camden did not want to get out of this swing!

Cali Trip--Part 1

On May 17th we headed to California for Krista's (Jonathan's step-sis) wedding. We were so excited to see family and share in her special day! Here are some pictures from our time in Bakersfield with Grandpa and Memaw, the rehearsal dinner in Morro Bay, and the wedding (also in MB). Dad and Karen, thank you for everything!

Hangin' with Grandpa. Notice the curled toes...love!
