Some Good Lovin'

Both of the boys give one another some good lovin'! Camden will randomly give Parker a hug or kiss (so sweet) and Parker has started to do the same.  In this little sequence the boys are playing for a bit before going to bed and Parker decides to hug his big brother!  Love it!

 Checking out the toy

 Goes in for the hug!

Camden is done and trying to move away, but Parker isn't finished yet!

The little guy isn't giving up!

Treasure in the Toy Box

Parker went over to the toy box with something very specific in mind.  I was trying to help him out, but everything I handed him or pointed to was not what he wanted.  I would've never guessed what he was after, so it's a good thing he grabbed it on his own!

 Diggin' in the toy box

Mommy, help me out here, I can't find what I'm looking for!

Hmmm...I've taken all these toys out and I still don't see it!

 Oh!  I just spotted it!

 Got it!

See, Mommy, I was looking for this baseball card

...so I could chew on it!

The Vacuum

Camden and Parker have quite a few personality differences.  At 13-months-old (these pics are from mid-February), Camden did not like the vacuum...or any loud noises for that matter.  He was a mellow fellow and wanted everything around him to be the same.  Still, at 3.5, he's not a huge fan of the vacuum.  Parker, on the other hand, loves it!  Loud noises?  No problem!  The product of being a second child, perhaps!

Sitting in the middle of the rug right after his nap just waiting for Daddy to make that thing move!

 Woohoo!  This is great!

 Yay for the vacuum!

 So fun!

Thanks, Daddy, I just love that thing!

Meanwhile, Camden is in the other room doing stickers

 Concentrating

Happy to be far from that noisy thing!

Flashback Friday

April 27, 2010

Camden was almost 20 months in this picture.  Daddy was already living in WA while we stayed in CO trying to sell our house.  Look at that chubby, sweet face! :)

Outdoor Fun!

Last weekend was beautiful!  We had a picnic in the front yard, went to our neighbor's baseball game, then had some fun with water!  Camden played with the big kids (they were chasing each other with cups full of water) and Parker played with his new "water table" (a gift from Grammy. Thanks, Mom, he loves it!).

 Ready for a baseball game!

 He loves being outside!

Helping Daddy with some yard work

 Everyone sweeps their yard, right?!

Ready to rock the water table

 Silly face

 Getting a drink

 Fun!

 Watching his big bro

Camden stopped by to put more water in for Parker

Then he was off (that's why there aren't many pics of him)!

He was loving it!

Mid-April Sunshine!

Beautiful weather on the weekend means a lot of fun family time outside!

Standing on his own!  We're making progress!

 Parker LOVES slides!

 Gorillas!

 Love this kid!

 Komodo dragon

At this point, my goal in life is to get them both looking and smiling for one picture!

Casey (lives across the street) walking with Parker (who is obviously over it)

So happy to have the ball the big kids were playing with

 Sweet boy

Casey loves our boys and we love her!  She is such a great girl!

Ordinary Moments

There are ordinary moments all day every day.  It is so easy to go through the motions.  We get so busy with life, the grind, so to speak, and don't live it.  We forget.  We forget to remember.  We forget to stop.  We forget to be thankful. We forget to make those ordinary moments sink in.  I want to find joy in the small, simple things.

It was just a few days ago, Friday (the 20th) to be exact. The weather was my favorite...the sun was shining, but it was cool enough to be in light long sleeves.  The boys and I were walking to the park.  I was pushing Parker on his trike (the one with the long handle attached) and he was humming.  He likes how the bumpy road makes his voice "bumpy" so he hums.  His little curls were blowing in the breeze from me pushing him.  Man, I love those curls!  Half a step behind me were 3.5-year-old footsteps and the rhythm of bounce...pause...bounce as Camden practiced dribbling a basketball and walking at the same time.  He talked (during the whole walk) about how he's going to "be tall like Daddy soon" and how he's going to "try his very best to shoot the ball on the high hoops at the park."  We were borrowing a ball from the neighbors so his excited little voice said, "Someday, I can get a big basketball too, Mommy!"  In that ordinary moment I just wanted to freeze time.  So thankful to be a Mommy, so thankful for my sweet boys, so thankful they still need me, so thankful for the joy in little things.  I'm going to blink and they will be walking to the park on their own dribbling basketballs between their legs or riding their own bikes (without humming).  I'm just an ordinary mama trying to savor the ordinary moments!
