WY Love

I am so thankful my parents were here for Parker's 1st birthday! They were very helpful with all of the preparations for the bash--cleaning, hanging lanterns, stringing the banner, setting up, etc. I appreciate them so much! Party aside, it was just great having them here! It is definitely a nice little break for me when they're around to entertain my little fellas. Mom and Dad, thank you so much for making the trip! I love you and miss you already!

Sorry I cut your head off in this pic, Dad. I know (as a 6'4" guy) it's not the first time!

The "Band Wagon"

Grandpa and Memaw sent Parker a fun ride-on toy I like to call the "band wagon." It's a cute car that has all kinds of buttons to push to make the sounds of different instruments. Camden has actually played with this a bit the last few times we have gone to Target, so he was really excited for it to be in our house! Thank you, Grandpa and Memaw!

Pushing the drum!

Sweet boy!

Happy boy!

Love his smile (and black and white pics)!

Thomas the Train

Papa and GG gave Parker a motorized Thomas the Train for his birthday! It is so fun! Both of the boys love it! Camden does a great job giving Parker rides until he can push the button and steer it on his own. Thank you, Papa and GG, for the awesome present!

My big one-year-old!

Cam showing Park how it works

"All aboard!"

Parker's face cracks me up!

Fun!

Look how Camden is concentrating!

This is how he likes to ride it when Parker is taking a break

He is all boy!

Milk!

I had a goal with both of the boys for breast-feeding--make it to their first birthday then wean them. Today the weaning began! I dropped Parker's 11:00 feeding so it was time to bring on the milk. I didn't mix it with breast milk, just straight up whole cow's milk. He was not a fan.

Darigold, of course! Helping the hubs stay employed!

Seriously, Mommy, you want me to drink that stuff?

Disgusting!

That ain't my mama's milk in there!

"Uh-oh!" (He dropped his sippy on the floor)

I'm just going to play peek-a-boo instead!

This is a lot more fun than drinking that milk!

Dylan's 2!

Our nephew, Dylan, is two today! He is across the country in NC and we miss him so much (and his parents). We're wishing him a very special day! Happy 2nd birthday, Dylan! We love you!

I took approximately 15 pictures and these two are the best I could get! Better than nothing, right? :)

thoughts about one

He's one. Parker Reid, my baby, is one. It still hasn't completely sunk in. On one hand I feel like I was in the hospital a week ago and on the other, the newborn stage (and adjusting to life with two) feels like a lifetime ago. It is a bit emotional for me...I'm a little sad he is already one. I don't want to be, it's a great stage and I'm loving it, but I am still sad. I feel as though someone has pushed the fast forward button on my life. Where did my baby go? We are done having kids so I think the reality of never having a little one again, never planning a first birthday party again, never being pregnant again, never watching him sit up for the first time again (the list goes on) is setting in and it makes me sad. Someone asked me today, "How old is he?" and for the first time I said, "He's one." She continued the conversation, asking about Camden, etc. and I, of course, answered her, but my heart was still stuck on my response to Parker's age. He is one. I love it and I love him. I would not hit rewind, I would not change anything about him or his age. I love having a one-year-old and a three-year-old. I don't want time to slow down, but I need to slow down and take it in. I have been trying to make a conscience effort to savor little moments during the day, to just stop and be thankful. My baby is healthy and happy (and not much of a baby anymore). I may seem contradictory by feeling sad yet not wanting anything to change. There is just a part of me that will miss the tiny stage, but I will give it up for what God has in store for me with two incredible boys. What a gift!

Parker's first birthday party

We celebrated Parker's first birthday on January 21st. We went with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" for a theme and it turned out great! I loved it because the book figured out the snacks for me! We just used some of the items the caterpillar eats through...Swiss cheese, salami, pickles, apples, oranges, lollipops, watermelon, and cupcakes! Parker was awesome! He rocked his cake and was happy the whole time! We definitely missed the family and friends who were not able to make it, but I'm so thankful my parents were here to celebrate with us!

The set up

I was trying to get the hanging lanterns in the pic

Parker's "smash" cake!

Delicious cupcakes we bought (it was so nice to just pick them up rather than making them)

He's one!
The party hat he didn't wear!

Daddy, Mommy, and the birthday boy!
Camden is NOT into pics these days so we opted to let him play while we took this one!

Gramps and Grammy with Parker

Playing with Olivia

Look who has their eye on the prize!

He went for it! No hesitation!

Just hanging out enjoying his cake!

Shove it in there, buddy!

We ended up cutting a slice and putting it on his tray...good times!

Yay!

Happy boy!

All cleaned up (thanks, Grammy!)

My loves! I think the birthday boy was maxed out at this point! :)
